Step 1. Register for the festival through this website FIRST (see below)
Step 2. Then, once Bethpage Camp-Resort receives your registration from this website's registration process, they will call you to setup your housing choice.
House of David Fellowship and Baruch Ministries are very happy that you have considered the fotVA feast site for celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles in 2017. The administrators have been celebrating this festival together for over 15 years now and it just never gets old. One of the best things about it is that the Almighty has seen fit to continue His plan of removing the scales from the eyes of those who have been blinded by the god of this world.
Every year in those past 15, it never failed that some of the people who came to the feast were new to this walk (“The Way”), and it makes for a glorious time to be able to gather with others who are also walking along this way. I remember our first year. My wife and I felt like a sponge submerged in water: We just couldn’t take in another thing, we were so overwhelmed.
As Paul wrote to the believers in Corinth, “…Let all things be done decently and in order…”, we believe that it is better to make things happen than to just let them happen. This is why even though this is our first year putting on a feast such as this in Virginia, we are still attempting to organize it as best we can.
The five of us (the administrators) have been in training on how to run a festival for over 12 years now and we are excited about putting that training to work. What that means for you is that there is, as they say, “a method to our madness”.
We and many others have spent months preparing for your arrival. Count-less hours have been spent in front of a computer, in meetings, practicing music, preparing dance steps, and on the phone so that when you arrive, everything will be in place where we all can spend eight joy filled days worshipping the Most High God. If you’re going to spend hundreds of dollars on gas or airfare and “sukkot-ing” as well as hours of your time traveling to observe the festival with us, we should honor you – our guests – by doing our best to make fotVA “the best that it can be!”
In return, what we ask of you is to honor and respect our efforts by…
The organizers of the festival want you, as well as us, to have a joyful and successful Feast of Tabernacles. To insure this happens, we have four items we would like for you to highly consider:
fotVA is a massive event that’s undertaken by a relatively small number of people, thus… we need a lot of help. On the registration form, you will find a number of areas of service (sometimes called programs) that you can select from. Some have few qualifications while others require professionals with years of experience. These areas of service/programs are also listed on our Helping with the Festival page.
Concerning the “areas of service”, we need leaders (one per program/area of service), assistants to the leaders (a few), and helpers or participants (many). The more volunteers we get, the more programs we can set into motion at the feast and the lessening of the load for everyone. As you will see explained later, some programs may not come into existence this year because no one volunteers to lead them.
The primary way to sign up for an area of service/program is via the Registration Page. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will contact you to see how we can help sort things out.
Since the festivals are based on a lunar-solar cycle, and not the Gregorian calendar, the dates and days are different from year to year. It's important to block out these 8 days (along with appropriate travel time) on your calendar so you don't let the festival slip up on you. Keep in mind that fotVA observes the festival based on the traditional Jewish calendar. Be sure to make arrangements to get off work and get your children out of school.
The next and last step is to actually register to attend the Feast of Tabernacles VA 2017 celebration. An online form has been provided to accomplish this task. A place has been provided at the end of the registration form (which completes the registration process) to pay the registration fee of $35 (a single individual) or $65 (for a family of two or more). It can be paid by credit card or by U.S. mail (like a check or money order). Please see the end of the registration form for further instructions.
When filling out the online Registration Form, please be sure to do so correctly. The information you submit will be used to automatically fill out your name tags. Use proper capitalization so someone does not have to re-enter your information. If a form field does not apply to you, please leave it blank. Do not type in words such as "none", "N/A", Deceased, or "0". Click on the areas where you can volunteer to help us out but be sure to not overload yourself.
Note: The form is long so please allow sufficient time to make your way through it.
Whether you are planning to stay in a cabin, bring an RV, or simply camp, you will need to make reservations with the Bethpage Camp-Resort staff - - - fotVA does not handle housing arrangements. Once you have registered, Bethpage Camp-Resort will call you so that you can secure your housing.
Each individual or family is responsible for their own meals throughout the feast which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If a group wide meal is planned, then all will be notified.
After registering, if for some reason it comes about that you will not be able to attend the festival with fotVA, please contact us by email or phone to let us know. This will enable others to attend that may have been turned away once we fill up. Be sure to cancel your housing as well!
